Ruth London Lent, 84, formerly of East Seventh Street, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2000, in Lakeshore Lutheran Home surrounded by her family.

Ruth was born May 30, 1915, to Samuel and Dora London in Duluth. She had worked for ISD 709 as a cafeteria manager at Woodland Junior High School for 25 years, retiring in 1978.

Ruth was a member of Temple Israel. She was a wonderful mother, who adored her family. Her children were her life, she lived for them.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sam Lent; her twin sister, Sylvia Petrisites; and a great-granddaughter, Jacinta McMillin.

She is survived by her daughters, Faye (Martin) Simowitz, Dorothy (Jim) Kunst and Patti Jo (Dick) Holmes; a son, Robert (Carole) Lent, all of Duluth; sisters Mary Litman of California and Blanche Goldberg of Superior; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren on the way.

Graveside service: 3 p.m. today in Tifereth Israel Cemetery. Arrangements by Johnson Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Temple Israel or Alzheimer's Association.
